Williamstown, or Willy as it is known to its loyal locals has a long maritime history. Before the re-engineering of the mouth of the Yarra River, obstacles made navigating the river dangerous and many Captains chose to offload passengers and cargo at Wiliamstown.
A walk along Nelson Place is a great opportunity to shop or eat at restaurants.
