Marc Blake

Marc Blake was a writer and performer for over twenty years. As comedy expert he appeared in Channel 4's Offensive guide to comedy and for the Dave Channel on their GSOH launch, also for the Granada TV series The Test.

He has written for numerous TV and radio series. He has written several comedy gift books, comic novels, and books on the craft of writing.

Has your interaction with fans, for example, at conventions, affected your work?

Is there any particular incident (a letter, a meeting, a comment that stands out?

Do you have a favourite author or book (or writer or film or series) that has influenced you or that you return to?

I am a fan of, in no particular order, Carl Hiassen, Martin Amis (early funny works), John Niven, Stephen King (the shorter ones) Elmore Leonard, James Ellroy and David Mamet. Films - too many to note. Top three today are The Shining. Bad Santa. The Day the Earth Caught Fire.

Who is the person you would most like to be trapped in a lift with? or a spaceship?

Lift - Cameron Diaz. Spaceship - Ripley - for obvious reasons.

Who is the person you would most DISlike to be trapped in a lift with? Or a spaceship?

Hitler. Can't speak German.

What would you pack for space? (Is there a food, beverage, book, teddy bear, etc that you couldn't do without?)

The London Encyclopaedia. Coffee. Guitar. How to learn Guitar book.

What is the most important thing you would like to get/achieve from your work?

Some (more) readers.

What is the special satisfaction of your work?

I try to amuse with all five novels. All available online. I try to help with all my non fiction books.
