Beverly Macdonald is an Australian writer of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children. She is one of the many genre writers living in Melbourne, Australia and was there in 1996 when Festivale was born.

Has your interaction with fans, for example, at conventions, affected your work?

I haven't been involved with organised fandom. I have had long conversations discussing books ad hoc with people who shared a love of science fiction.

Is there any particular incident (a letter, a meeting, a comment that stands out?

Do you have a favourite author or book (or writer or film or series) that has influenced you or that you return to?

Probably Marion Zimmer Bradley

Who would you most like to be trapped in a lift with?

Superman.
