Melbourne Star Views at Night

Night falls, and Richard and I return to the Melbourne Star for our encore flight.

We take the time to walk through the entrance area, reading the statistics on the Melbourne Star, and information about Melbourne.

Seeing a city at night is very different from seeing it during the day. At night the lights make Melbourne look a bit magical.

The Melbourne Star puts on it's own light show, coloured LEDs showing off the engineering feat that is the star.

Although one of four observation wheels, the Melbourne Star is unique in its design.

The cabins look small and far away as they ride the circumference of the wheel.

In the distance, the Bolte Bridge (with the columns Melburnians refer to as Jeff's Goal Posts, is also highlighted.

Streams of white and red lights show the freeways, towers of light dot their way from the city centre to the horizon.

Go on, look down.

Etihad Stadium looks like a UFO about to take off from amongst the tall buildings.
